I had another delicious meal with J and her mom on Friday night. We went to Kata Robata, a sushi restaurant on Kirby and Richmond. Sushi isn't my favorite but I knew there were some vegetarian options because Cameron and his family (all vegetarians) have eaten there a few times and loved it. I ordered fried tofu with mixed mushrooms and Asian truffle oil sauce. This is one of the best tofu dishes I've ever had and the presentation with the fried lotus chips was beautiful as you can see in the picture.

Jenni's Noodle House
Cameron and his friend Lila and I went to Jenni's Noodle House on Shepherd last night. I have been dieting for several weeks so and this was the first time I've eaten out in a while. We shared steamed edamame, veggie disco dumplings, and dream rolls. I had the "Art Car" Curry with tofu and Cameron had the Rockin' Veggies vermicelli salad. A very delicious meal.

Here are some pictures from our delicious lunch at Mai's Vietnamese Restaurant on Memorial Day. If you look at the tea pot you can see Cameron (the photographer), his brother Adrian, and their friend Danley. They spent the weekend at our apartment along with Cameron's parents and of course, my favorite guest, Pearl.

A Belated Birthday Celebration
Here are pictures from our wonderful dinner last night at Nidda Thai on Westheimer. I had the Red Curry with Tofu. Cameron had Nidda Veggie (mixed vegetables stir-fried with Thai herb sauce) and we shared the Fresh Rolls with tofu and the Pad Thai. A really yummy meal. We were celebrating Cameron's birthday which was last week.

After dinner we went to The Chocolate Bar on West Alabama.

Dinner and a Play
On Friday my friend Alice and I went to Radical Eats. I had a fried green tomato sandwich and sweet potato fries. My friend had a beet mushroom onion dish. I forgot to bring my camera (I'm still not used to this all food has to be photographed thing) but the waiter was nice enough to take these pictures and email them to me. After dinner we went to Rice and saw a student production of Little Shop of Horrors.

Photographing Food
One thing I've learned from my roommate is that all food, especially meals eaten out, must be photographed. I did remember to bring my camera to Pasha, a Turkish restaurant in the Rice Village, but forgot to take the photo until we had already had a few bites. I went with a friend from work and the food was excellent. I had hummus with thick pieces of bread and my friend had the Pasha Meze Platter, a mixture of Turkish appetizers which included hummus, ezme, babaganush, tabuli, eggplant salad, dolma and lebni. They also serve an olive oil dipping sauce with sesame seeds that I could eat all day, everyday. We had tiny glasses of hot chai tea after the meal.

Sunday Brunch

Here are some pictures from our brunch last Sunday at the restaurant where Cameron works. Cameron and I had the Vegetarian Eggs Benedict without the egg which is a roasted beet and mushroom patty, with vegan hollandaise and grilled vegetables. This is the same patty they use for their Vegetarian Burger which also has arugula, lettuce, feta cheese, sweet onion, basil pesto, and a Parmesan crisp. It's by far the best burger I've ever had. I also got to meet his aunt, uncle, cousins, and grandfather who, along with his brother and mother, are in the pictures.

Some pictures from our dinner last night. We shared the Green Pizza with Salad, the vegan Hippie Meatloaf with vegan mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach, and then for dessert, the 3 layer chocolate mousse cake. Cameron took these wonderful pictures.
