I just finished this Lego set of Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water. I didn't even know Legos had an architectural series until I saw some in a catalog. This was so much fun I decided to order the larger (2,276 piece) Robie House set.

The black and white cat is Dixie, who came with our house in New Orleans.
The little Emenee Organ was probably my favorite Christmas gift ever. I still have it and it still plays as well as the day I got it in 1959.

Cookie Day!

Thanks to The Decider we are all experiencing a major sugar high in the cataloging department today.

I went to P.F. Chang's on Friday night and ordered one of favorite things on the menu, the Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps. They didn't taste as good as usual but I figured it was me and didn't think anything more about it until I got my bill. The waiter had written down chicken instead of vegetarian. I asked him if they were indeed chicken and he said yes. He thought that's what I had ordered. I explained to him that I have been a vegetarian since 1989 and would never order chicken. The waiter felt horrible about the mix up and I wish now I hadn't said anything to him since there wasn't any way to fix it at that point. I'll probably never go back there though. I started going to P.F. Chang's because PETA recommended them. They have a large selection of vegan items and will substitute tofu for almost any other protein in most dishes if you ask.

A few years ago I put all of the pictures I have of my daughter in albums and gave them to her. This is one of the few I have left and it's one of my favorites. It was taken in 1st grade.

Pictures with Santa

The first 7 pictures were taken at the Foley's in downtown Houston. Foley's always had the real Santa. The last 2 were taken in New Orleans. The snowman in the second to last picture is Mr. Bingle, the Christmas mascot for Maison Blanche. Anyone who grew up in New Orleans will remember the song: Jingle, jangle, jingle here comes Mr. Bingle with another message from Kris Kringle...
